Fallin Community Enterprises (FCE) is a social enterprise and a charity, established in July 2005. The organisation evolved from the Fallin Futures Community group with the aim of driving forward the social, economic and environmental regeneration of the village. It was set up to look at community recycling projects and rejected other options in favour of bicycle recycling. It set up the Recyke-a-bike project in Fallin to provide training and employment through recycling and refurbishment of bikes. This project has proved so successful that it has had to move to larger premises in Stirling to accommodate its growth.
The Board wants to ensure the continued success of the Recyke-a-bike project but is also keen to focus some of its attention on its roots in Fallin and develop a second project to help to regenerate Fallin and create employment, training and volunteering opportunities for local people.
Community Enterprise was commissioned to look at the feasibility of a number of ideas for a practical community services project. This project is based on the concept that local people should take more ownership of the services provided for them and that these services should provide community benefit.
